Enhancing Climate Resilience and Food Security Project
A flagship initiative supporting the Maldives in reducing the vulnerability of island communities to climate-related hazards through early warning systems, coastal protection infrastructure, and climate-smart agriculture technologies.

Objectives
- Strengthen national climate adaptation capacity through radar systems and early warning mechanisms
- Deliver flood and coastal protection on Kulhudhuffushi Island combining engineered and nature-based solutions
- Introduce climate-smart agricultural technologies and establish training facilities across three atolls
Expected Outcomes
- Reduced vulnerability for 15,000 island community residents across 12 islands
- Improved early warning coverage from 40% to 95% of inhabited islands
- Increased climate-resilient crop production by 60% in targeted regions
